Bodily Injury Liability

Auto coverage that pays for injuries you cause to other people in an accident.

What it actually means

This is the part of your auto policy that pays medical bills, lost wages, and legal costs for people you injure in an at-fault accident — it does not cover your own injuries. Limits are usually shown as two numbers, like 100/300, meaning $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident.

Example: A 100/300 policy pays up to $100,000 for one injured person and up to $300,000 total if multiple people are hurt.
