Property Damage Liability

Auto coverage that pays for damage you cause to someone else's car or property.

What it actually means

This pays to repair or replace another person's vehicle, fence, mailbox, or other property when you're at fault in an accident. State minimums are often far below what a modern vehicle actually costs to replace.

Example: If you total a $45,000 truck and your property damage limit is only $25,000, you'd owe the remaining $20,000 yourself.
