Loss of Use Coverage

Pays for temporary living expenses if your home becomes uninhabitable after a covered loss.

What it actually means

Also called additional living expenses (ALE), this covers hotel stays, temporary rentals, and extra food costs while your home is being repaired after a covered event like a fire.

Example: If a kitchen fire makes your home unlivable for two months, loss of use coverage pays for a temporary apartment during repairs.
